Hello Humans, one of Dublin’s leading digital agencies working across tourism, culture and community-driven brands, has launched the new website for The Outing Festival, Ireland’s well-known LGBTQ+ matchmaking and music festival. The launch marks a new phase in the festival’s digital presence, supporting its continued growth and expanding audience.
The new website reflects the spirit of the festival, combining a bold and expressive visual identity with a clear, practical structure that supports visitors in planning their experience. The design balances personality with usability, ensuring that essential information is easy to find while maintaining the energy associated with the festival.
Key content, including tickets, accommodation, schedules and visitor information, is presented through clearly defined sections aligned with typical user journeys. This structure enables visitors to quickly understand what the festival offers and how to participate, whether they are attending for the first time or returning for another year.
Accessibility was a core requirement of the project and was addressed throughout both design and development. The website meets WCAG 2.2 AA standards and incorporates accessible navigation, readable layouts and inclusive interaction patterns, while retaining the visual vibrancy of the festival’s brand. Custom iconography and bespoke design elements were developed to support wayfinding and enhance the overall storytelling of the site.
Speaking about the project, Niamh O’Kennedy, CEO, Hello Humans, commented:
“The Outing Festival stands for connection, belonging and celebrating people for who they are, and it was essential that the website genuinely reflected that. We’re incredibly proud of the design work on this project, from the bespoke icons to the overall look and feel, but just as importantly, of building a site that’s accessible and inclusive at its core. The digital experience needed to feel as welcoming as the festival itself!”
The platform was built on WordPress using a flexible content management system, enabling the festival team to manage schedules, announcements and updates independently while maintaining accessibility and usability standards over time.
Eddie McGuinness, Co-Chair, Festival Director and Founder of The Outing Festival, added:
“The Outing is all about connection, inclusion and creating a space where people feel welcome to be themselves. Hello Humans really understood that from the beginning. The new website feels like the festival, it’s warm, accessible, full of personality and easy to use, which is exactly what we wanted.”
The website is now live and supports one of Ireland’s most distinctive cultural festivals as it continues to connect people through music, matchmaking and community.
